I feel like Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is really underrated, but it holds a special place for me and I dumped more hours than I care to cont playing this with friends. This costume had some fun challenges, like creating enough volume in the wig, doing a pleated double circle skirt so that it would have lots of movement and making the props. I was on a time crunch for this, so to have time to fully sculpt the crystal chalice I decided to try and use existing elements for the racket weapon. I started with a plastic shovel toy and then put two fry baskets, all from the dollar store, over the shovel part to form the basic shape. I added a sculpted element to the end to match the artwork and covered the bottom in fabric. Easily the cheapest base material cost of any of my props.
