I absolutely loved the magical art deco style of the Fantastic Beasts movie, so I just had to make an outfit from it. This was a really fun but challenging patterning project, most of 2016 and 2015 for me was more armor/prop related so I was very happy to get back to sewing. 1920's dresses overall have this very effortless look but have a lot of detail and sewing tricks that allow them to have this great flow without a lot of fabric bulk. Most of the pattern pieces were cut on the bias for this, to give it that slinky look, and I chose the crepe de chine fabric for its almost ethereal weightlessness. I have compiled a board of my reference images on Pintrest if anyone else needs them.
